Health and education outcomes of first and second generation migrant children in England and Wales

All children have the right to the best possible health, regardless of where they or their parents were born. Using data from the 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 Censuses, this research will examine patterns of (1) selfreported health in children who have migrated to England and Wales compared to children who were born in the UK and (2) selfreported health among children whose parents were born abroad, compared to children both of whose parents were born in the UK. We will use statistical models including logistic regression and ordinal regression. Our research will provide evidence to inform the provision of health and other support services for child migrants and children whose parents are migrants.
