Period trends in ethnic inequalities on long term limiting illness

Neil Smith, Queen Mary University of London, and Emily Grundy, University of Cambridge

(Project no. 30142)

This project compares the prevalence of limiting illness in 40-59 year olds in 1991 with the prevalence in the same age group in 2001, stratified by a range of ethnic groups. The aim is to investigate whether ethnic inequalities in limiting long term illness are persistent across time periods and whether temporal changes are associated with differences in socioeconomic circumstances and migration effects (eg. length of residence in England and Wales).
