Do maternal characteristics have an impact on birthweight of liveborn child?

Jitka Pikhartova, UCL

(Project no. 1014461)

This research will investigate how maternal disadvantages could influence the birthweight characteristic of newly liveborn baby. Existing research using different population studies show association between maternal characteristics and different health outcomes. One of these is birth weight of child. Characteristics such as level of education, social class, income, overall socioeconomic position, self-rated health status, work load during pregnancy etc. would help to look for the similar association using data from English and Welsh population.
