- Mapire - Historical Maps Online - Historical maps of the Habsburg Monarchy and its successor states.
- DigiPress - Historic Newspapers digitised by the Bavarian State Library.
- Europeana - A portal bringing together cultural heritage from over 3500 European museums, libraries and archives.

- Orphan Works Database - A single publicly accessible database that provides the public with information related to orphan works contained in the collections of publicly accessible libraries, educational establishments and museums, as well as archives, film or audio heritage institutions and public-service broadcasting organisations established in the Member States.
- Project Gutenberg - A library of over 60,000 to download or read them online. You will find the world's great literature here, with a focus on older works for which U.S. copyright has expired. Thousands of volunteers digitized and diligently proofread the eBooks, for enjoyment and education.
- The DART-Europe E-theses Portal - Provides open access to research theses from 619 Universities in 28 European countries. You can search the database by keywords or browse by author, year of award, collection, awarding institution (where known) or country.
- ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global (PQDT Global) - PQDT Global contains over a million full-text dissertations and theses from 1861 onwards that are available for download in PDF format.
