SSEES hosts a number of interdisciplinary research centres, groups and funded projects which aim to help us expand our understanding of the region.
Our mission is to create in-depth knowledge of Russia and Eastern Europe in regional, comparative, transnational, and global contexts, and to promote and disseminate an understanding of our region to the wider world; developing multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and multi-method approaches to knowledge creation and to teaching; and to enhance the development of area studies at UCL and among the wider academic community.

Become a Research Volunteer at UCL SSEES
Working as a research volunteer is a great way for students and recent graduates to gain work experience in an academic environment. Research volunteers work with a research active member of staff at UCL SSEES, whom they assist on single project throughout their period of activity.
