  • Balkan Insight Balkan Insight is BIRN’s flagship English-language website providing daily news, as well as analytical insight and investigations on key issues in ten countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia, with occasional coverage of Turkey and Greece. 
  • COBISS (Co-operative Online Bibliographic Systems and Services) is South East Europen Union Catalogue, a platform for the national library information systems in Slovenia, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Bulgaria and Albania.
  • EBSEES – The European Bibliography of Slavic and East European Studies 1991-2007.
  • The Encyclopedia of Romantic Nationalism (ERNiE) contains c. 1700 analytical articles on themes and persons, as well as historical documentation (Letters, Writings, Images, Music etc.), tracing and visualizing the transnational rise of national culture-building in 19th-century Europe.
  • Milman Parry Collection of Oral Literature at Harvard Library Digital Collections is a unique repository of Balkan oral traditions, including sound recordings and texts. The Online Database of Harvard's Milman Parry Collection of Oral Literature (MPCOL) provides a publicly accessible guide to the contents of this unique archive of materials relating to South Slavic oral tradition.
  • OpenEdition Books – a web platform for books in the humanities and social sciences, with more than half of them available in Open Access, such as Discourses of Collective Identity in Central and Southeast Europe 1770–1945 series and other relevant publications from Central European University Press.
  • World Digital Library database from Library of Congress containing digital maps, prints, books, journals, films and sound recordings. Narrow results by country, time-period, etc.
  • UTREES – University Theses in Russian, Soviet and East European Studies since 1907 onwards.
