Primary and secondary sources

  • ASK - Anthology of Serbian Literature - contains over 130 digitised volumes of Serbian literary works including writings from Medieval literature to prose and poetry from the beginning of the 20th century. A smaller number of works from contemporary authors are also included.
  • Book collection of University Library "Svetozar Marković" - digitised first editions of books from the Special Collection of the University Library.
  • Cultural Monuments in Serbia This presentation is a result of the joint endeavor of a multidisciplinary team gathered by the National Center for Digitisation with the aim of providing models for developing an electronic catalog of cultural monuments in Serbia and digitising the corresponding documentation. In addition, by digitising cultural resources - some of which cannot be presented in classical paper publications - and making them available online, this project also supports the heritage preservation and research. The catalog combines records from various Serbian heritage institutions including bibliographic references for further study. The presentation is partially available free of charge.
  • Časopis Kinoteka - archive of monthly magazine Kinoteka published by the National Film Archive of the Republic of Serbia
  • DAIS: Digital Archive of the Publications of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts repository provides open access to the publications of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) and its research institutes, as well as to other outputs of the research projects implemented in these institutions. 
  • Digital contents – Serbian Cultural Institutions 2020 - list of resources collated by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Serbia. Includes resources and programmes (eg. virtual tours, digital audio and video materials, photos, texts, 3D scanned objects, etc. in different languages) of national cultural institutions available in digital format.
  • The Digital National Library of Serbia - digitised material from the Collection of the National Library of Serbia. Includes periodicals, books, manuscripts, catalogues and bibliographies, photographic documents, sound recordings, etc.
  • Digital Repository of the National Library of Serbia - repository of periodical publications of the National Library of Serbia.
  • Digitalna Solidarnost - collective platform of resources available for free during the COVID-19 pandemic, supported by the government of Serbia. Includes online courses, e-books, audio-visual material, television content etc.
  • Documents about the foreign politics of the Kingdom of Serbia 1903-1914 - compiles 42 volumes of scholarly edited documents of Serbia's Foreign Affairs Ministry which sustained notable damage in both world wars. The documents illustrate Serbia's international position in early 20th century.
  • DoiSerbia Repository that contains articles from the leading Serbian scientific journals. All articles are published under Open Access.
  • DoiSerbiaPhD is national register of e-thesis deposited in the University Repositories across the Serbia. Every thesis has a DOI in order to expand its visibility. This register contains links to full texts to every single University repository.
  • E-Library of Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts is a comprehensive and interconnected collection of retro-digitised books and other digital documents, including the books from other areas of science and literature, some of which are rather rare. Beside rare books, the library contains several important collections, such as doctoral dissertations of Serbian mathematicians and collected works of some leading Serbian scientists of the past.
  • “E-theses” Repository System of University Library “Svetozar Markovic” - includes doctoral dissertations from a local repository or from the central database of doctoral dissertations of the University of Belgrade, University of Niš and University of Kragujevac.
  • Filmski centar Srbije / Film Center Serbia provides a database of films, with selection of documentaries, animated and short films available from their official YouTube channel (currently with daily uploads from their collection). 
  • Historical Newspapers collection of University Library "Svetozar Marković" - first fully searchable corpus of digitised historic newspaper texts from University Library “Svetozar Marković”, Belgrade.  Includes over 500,000 pages from the period between the beginning of the 19th century to the present from different Serbian newspaper titles, such as Beogradske opštinske novine, Nova iskra, Glas naroda, Zora, Srbadija.
  • Inoteze Digitised Dissertations from University library „Svetozar Marković“ collection. Includes dissertations defended by Serbian scientists at foreign universities at the end of 19th and at the beginning of 20th century.
  • Jugoslovenska Kinoteka - official YouTube channel of the National Film Archive of the Republic of Serbia. Includes archival clips and films from the interwar period of early 20th century.
  • Jugoslovenska Kinoteka EFG1914  provides access to a collection of material from the National Film Archive of the Republic of Serbia related to World War I, digitised as a part of the European Film Gateway 1914 Project. Also accessible via official Vimeo channel.
  • Manuscripts collection of University Library “Svetozar Marković”- digitised collection of manuscripts from the period between 13th to 18th century.
  • Monumenta Serbica  - collection of digitised material related to Serbian Medieval history and art. Includes selected texts on medieval history, Selected essays on Serbian medieval art, A database of medieval Cyrillic manuscripts, An Old Slavonic dictionary, Dushan's Code, Serbian epic poems and a lexicon of towns mentioned in epic poems, Bibliographical references of Serbian an Slavic Cyrillic alphabet in form of a database.
  • NaRDuS - National Repository of Dissertations in Serbia - a common portal of PhD dissertations and thesis evaluation reports from all Serbian universities. All universities are obliged to deposit basic information about the dissertation - together with the thesis evaluation report and dissertation itself - to NaRDuS within three months period starting from the date of PhD dissertation defence.
  • PHAIDRA  - Digital Repository of the University of Belgrade. Permanent Hosting, Archiving and Indexing of Digital Resources and Assets is system for permanent archiving, indexing and use of digital objects of the University of Belgrade.
  • Project Rastko - Internet Library of Serb Culture is a cultural and educational project dedicated to Serb and Serb-related arts and humanities, including works of history, literature, philosophy etc both the public domain and copyrighted texts published with the authors' permissions.
  • Serbian Literary Criticism - portal of digitised literary critical writings, reviews, interpretations and other forms of literary criticism from the collection of University Library “Svetozar Marković”, Belgrade.
  • Serbian scientists’ legacies - digital archive containing material as part of legacies of some of the most significant Serbian scientists.
