Primary and secondary sources

  • ADP Social Science Data Archives ADP is part of the Social Sciences Research Institute of the Faculty of Social Sciences, working to ‘Analyze data Deposit study Promote science’ provides access to research data. Registration needed.
  • The Biblos Portal  is intended for library circulation e-books and e-journals in the Slovenian language. NUK members or members of the Slovenian public libraries can also borrow the books free of charge, or you can buy the material.
  • The Collection of Slovenian Literary Texts is used for reading Slovenian literary texts. It allows for searching full-text works of predominantly Slovene literary classics.
  • dLib: Digital Library of Slovenia offers free access to a wide variety of digital contents in the fields of science, art and culture: booksmagazinesmanuscriptspictorialsmaps and other digitised materials.
  • eZISS: Elektronske Znanstvenokritične Izdaje Slovenskega Slovstva  digital critical editions of Slovenian literature offer selected Slovenian texts with integrated facsimiles, transcriptions and scholarly commentary, in some cases including audiovisual recordings.
  • France Prešeren website is devoted to the greatest Slovene poet. It contains poems from his collection Poezije, selected recitals by a variety of actors, his biography, and more.
  • Fran.si portal of the Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language at ZRC SAZU, is intended for browsing through dictionaries, linguistic corpora, and other linguistic collections.
  • Mrežnik is a portal containing more than 200 selected information resources designed to search for scientific, technical, and study literature. Some resources are freely accessible to all users, others are accessible only to students of the University of Ljubljana and to members of university libraries either from library locations or via remote access after registering. You can check the list of resources by access condition to see under what terms and conditions individual resources are available.
  • The National and University Library's Archive of the Web preserves, protects and preserves the written cultural and scientific heritage of Slovenia on the World Wide Web. The versions of each site are arranged by the date the cover was completed.
  • Open Science Slovenia – Repository for open access to diploma, master and doctoral theses and research publications of Slovenian universities and research institutions. Also includes video-lectures, reviews, reports and much more.  
  • Portal Kamra collects digital cultural heritage of the Slovenian regions  and content of local background in the Slovenian language; it is accessible to everyone; no Library membership or registration are required.
  • Repository of University of Primorska electronic forms of theses, articles, and research publications of the University. Statistic figures include only works with full text (with files) in all languages.
  • Repository of University of Nova Gorica
  • RUL Repository of the University of Ljubljana facilitates collecting and saving electronic forms of theses, articles, and research publications by employees of the University as well as research data. The Repository also keeps metadata on works from the ePrints.FRI, PeFprints, DRUGG, and ADP collections.
  • Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts serial publications  provides access to current issues and archive of the publications of SAZU.
  • The Slovenian Bibliography Portal incorporates bibliographic records on books, periodicals, newspapers, printed music scores, sound recordings, cartographic material, pictorial material, and articles. Coverage includes publications either written by Slovene authors or in the Slovene language or published by Slovene publishing houses.
  • Slovenian Film Database – watch films from Slovenian Film Centre.
  • Slovenian historical periodicals and scientific journals – gateway to free as well as restricted access periodicals and journals from Slovenia.
  • Slovenian National Biography including index, periods, occupations etc.
  • Srečko Kosovel Hundert Gedichte/Sto pesmi website contains texts of one hundred selected poems by Srečko Kosovel with parallel German translations.
