Integrated Molecular & Cell Science Lab

The IMCS laboratory, setup in 2014, is a research laboratory supporting cancer, pathology and technology innovations for both early phase discovery research and translational development.

Based within the Department of Tissue & Energy, within the Division of Surgery & Interventional Science, IMCS utilises in house expertise in immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridisation and image quantification coupled with genomic and proteomic next generation sequencing. The laboratory works in synergy with the translational gastroenterology, urology and breast cancer groups within the department, translating R&D activities such as novel transcriptomic biomarker discovery to support antibody and small molecule targeted therapeutic strategies.

The laboratory utilises high throughput Bond (Leica), Fluidigm system, Ion Torrent and Ion Proton together with in house developed genomic and proteomic informatics for integrated data handling and analysis.
