UCL is a big place which is great because it means there are so many opportunities out there. But it can also mean opportunities can be hard to find if you don't know where to look. We have rounded up some ideas to help you get more involved in what happens at UCL.

Giving back to UCL

Widening Participation Student Ambassador


Open Day Student Ambassador: (keep an eye out for information in MyUCL)


Transition Mentor: help new students settle in by providing support and advice. Transition Mentors are usually recruited in Term 3 for the following academic year. 

Shape UCL Education

Student Academic Rep: represent the interests of other students to shape education at UCL. 


UCL ChangeMakers: opportunities, funding and support for students and staff who want to work together to enhance education & the student experience at UCL.


Student Reviewers of Teaching Practice: help to improve how the university works by providing detailed feedback and analysis from a student perspective


Student Experience Panel: join the panel to receive opportunities to collaborate with us or share your ideas and feedback

STEM

UCL Institute of Making: a multidisciplinary research club and Makerspace, with a friendly and inclusive space offering an exciting range of tools and machinery for members to use. Their mission is to provide all makers with a creative home in which to innovate, contemplate and understand all aspects of materials

Hackathons: keep at eye out in MyUCL for the many Hackathons that are run throughout the year. They cover everything from innovative technology and climate change to solving problems for charities, revolutionising museum archives to make them come alive and addressing some of the most pressing societal concerns.
