The UCL Access and Widening Participation Office runs a range of activities to promote university.
We are not recruiting for any new Student Ambassador positions at the moment. If you would like us to let you know when there is an opening you can register your interest here.
- What is the Widening Participation Student Ambassador scheme?
UCL Widening Participation (WP) office organises events and activities for young people from backgrounds that are under-represented at university. We work with students from non-selective state schools and lower-income families. We also work with teachers, parents and other supporters, and with specialist groups such as disabled students, care-experienced, estranged students, Black students, mature students, and forced migrants.
Our aim is to raise their aspirations and attainment, and to increase their knowledge of their higher education options.
- What do WP Student Ambassadors do?
Our WP Student Ambassadors help deliver our activities. Some activities involve mentoring, tutoring, being part of a student panel, talking to young people about UCL and their experience as students, delivering presentations to school, attending HE fairs. This is a paid role at £11.33/hour.
Given the current pandemic, most of our WP activities are being delivered online.
