A talk by Russian poet Aleksandar Levashov about
the Brodsky’s museum in St Petersburg will be held in Russian as part of
the Russian language mini-seminars "Culture and Society in Modern
Russia" ("Культура и общество современной России").
The presentation will be followed by a reading of Brodsky’s poems and Aleksandar Levashov’s own poetry.
Josef Brodsky (1940, Leningrad – 1991, New York) was
awarded the 1987 Nobel Prize in Literature "for an all-embracing
authorship, imbued with clarity of thought and poetic intensity". He was
appointed United States Poet
Laureate in 1991.
