Alfred Rieber (Central European University)

Alfred Rieber is University Research Professor at Central European University (Budapest), and Professor Emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania. The author of numerous books on imperial and Soviet Russian history, Professor Rieber’s expertise ranges from the history of merchants and entrepreneurialism in the Russian empire to forced migration and the long history of Russian imperial expansion.

He will be discussing his new book Stalin and the Struggle for Supremacy in Eurasia, out with Cambridge University Press in 2015.
