1) Make new connections with your global UCL community with help from your Featured Mentors

Featured Mentors are a group of alumni volunteers who offer their time and skills to help users – reach out and ask them a quick question!

“It’s fulfilling offering the support you always wished you had yourself - UCL Bentham Connect is an inclusive online community, where we can share and gain academic, professional and personal guidance. We are all richer for learning with a diverse global community who expose us to different ways of living, studying and working.”

Natasha Winnard (UCL BA Geography 1994)

2) Develop your personal and professional skills with resources and toolkits

Explore the new Resources Library - a collection of expertly curated professional and personal development resources such as podcasts, blogs and advice sheets created by our alumni.

One favourite part of my role is getting to work with such talented and diverse UCL graduates, each with their own unique set of professional skills and industry insights to share. Through the UCL Bentham Connect resources Library, we are able to share expertise from real world industry leaders.”

Chantelle Scott (UCL Alumni Relations Manager and UCL PGCE 2013)

3) Join international, skill-specific and community-based groups

If you're looking to connect with people from a certain industry, community, or part of the world, head to the Groups pages.

"I've found social media and other platforms like UCL Bentham Connect invaluable to stay in touch with friends and colleagues from all around the world. Joining local and international Alumni groups is a great way to maintain and expand your networks and find support when needed.”

Baher Ashour (UCL MSc Audiology for Ent Practice 2005), alumni volunteer in Dubai, UAE

4) Find out about events run by the UCL alumni community

View event listings to hear from sector-leading global graduate speakers on an inspiring range of topics – from breaking into an industry, to looking after your wellbeing.

"I met some great people taking part in an online event through UCL Bentham Connect. It's a dynamic place to share ideas - some excellent students helped me with a concept I was exploring!”

Dimple Khagram (UCL MA Education and International Development 2016)

5) Gain insider knowledge to break into an industry or sector

Use the Directory, to search for and network with graduates, students and staff. You can filter by career, UCL degree, graduation year, professional skills, location and even by who is willing to help!

“I found an opportunity directly through UCL Bentham Connect. I messaged someone that I could see worked in medical communications and was open to being a mentor. His company had an internship that I did and it got me on to the ladder of having some professional experience.”

Imogen Coupe (UCL MSci Neuroscience 2019)
