The UCL Student Centre: Services for you

21 February 2019

The new Student Centre is now open! With unique spaces across 8 floors, here is all that you need to know about the student services that will be located there!

Student in UCL Student Centre

Student Enquiries Centre

Previously based in the Chadwick Building, the Student Enquiries team (part of Student Support and Wellbeing) are now located on Floor 1 in the Student Enquiries Centre (SEC). This central information point offers one place for all enquiries about your studies, no matter how big or small.

The team are able to answer questions about a wide range of topics such as your student record, exams, Study Abroad, fees, funding, and more!

As well as offering computers within the centre dedicated to updating your details and paying your fees, we are working to improve the online self-help opportunities for students; this includes developments to the council tax exemption and bank letters you can print from your Portico account!

Disability, Mental Health and Wellbeing Support team

The Disability, Mental Health and Wellbeing Support team (also part of Student Support and Wellbeing) will also be co-locating with enquiries staff on Floor 1 of the Student Centre. With bright new consultation rooms, you’ll be able to attend drop-in sessions and book longer appointments for in a peaceful and calm space.

The drop-in sessions will still be held every working day, so you can see an appropriate adviser easily, without needing an appointment, to discuss any issues that may be affecting your ability to study.

Religion and faith support

Charlotte Bradley, UCL’s Chaplain and Interfaith Adviser, is now located on Floor B2 to assist students with religion and faith. Charlotte’s role is to support the rich diversity of faith traditions at UCL (and those who do not identify with a faith). Charlotte will be available to listen and talk in complete confidence to all members of UCL, regardless of religious belief or background, about any concerns or issues they may have.

Also located on Floor B2 are the Quiet Contemplation Rooms; these are a space for students to pray, meditate and reflect. There are also ablution facilities and showers located on this floor.

And more…

Be sure to explore! The Student Centre offers an amazing array of study spaces (over 1,000 in total!) including quiet study rooms, group study rooms and open study areas.

The building also has a café on Floor 3 and some great spaces to relax when you need a breath of fresh air (the terrace on Floor 4 and the Japanese Garden outside the Mezzanine).
