Jennifer Keating researches the Russian colonial experience in the last decades of the tsarist era. Her doctoral dissertation ‘Space, image and display in Russian Central Asia, 1881’ investigated the relationship between environment and empire in Russian Turkestan.

Having completed her PhD at UCL SSEES under the supervision of Professor Simon Dixon, she is now a Past & Present Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute for Historical Research, London.
