Collecting your UCL student ID card

Your UCL ID card gives you full access to buildings across our campuses and enables you to borrow books from UCL libraries. Find out how you can collect it below.

How and where to collect your ID card as a New Student:

If you have received email confirmation that you have been fully enrolled, you can collect your ID card.

Remember:

To bring your 'confirmation of enrolment' email.
Have a valid ID document e.g. passport, UK driving license, or EU identity card.
Your photo will be taken for your ID card when you collect it.

At Bloomsbury:

Do not use the "main" UCL Quad entrance to collect your ID Card. Enter via Malet Place or the Student Centre. You will need to book an appointment at Andrew Huxley to collect your UCL ID Card.

At UCL East:

No booking is required for ID card collection at East. We operate a walk-in service, at Marshgate Reception from 8.00am to 8.00pm. Both students and staff can collect from here.

Returning Student

If you are a returning student continuing on the same course, you'll need to re-enrol and book an appointment at Andrew Huxley.

If you have an invisible disability, UCL supports the Sunflower Lanyard scheme. It is a way to show you have an invisible disability and may require additional assistance. Wearing a Sunflower Lanyard is optional.

You can collect a Sunflower Lanyard from various UCL libraries or when you collect your ID Card.

If you need a lanyard before coming to campus, you can request one to be posted to you via askUCL. Remember, you need to have a UCL username and password to use askUCL.
