ID cards, locks, and keys are some of the basic elements of security at UCL. They are essential to your time at UCL. You can find out more about getting an ID card and replacing a missing card or lock
ID cards
ID Cards are a vital part of UCL's security provision and we ask that you keep this safe. Please carry it with you at all times while on UCL premises. Your UCL identity card serves many purposes. UCL ID cards also provide:
- access to UCL buildings, including UCL's libraries.
- the ability to check books out from libraries (it's your library card too).
- access to the Bloomsbury Fitness Centre.
How do I get a UCL ID card?
You will need to show one form of personal photo identification such as a Passport, Drivers licence, or EU ID card. Please note we will NOT accept photocopies or digital copies. Your photograph for your UCL ID card will be taken at the desk.
