Volunteering and community at UCL

Being a UCL student means you have the great perk of having access to the Volunteering Service.

UCL Volunteering Service

We love everything about volunteering and want to bring that enthusiasm to you.

We work with over 400 charities across London, so whether you’re looking to develop your skills, give something back, help others in need or make new friends - we’re here to help you find your dream role.

We make sure all our in-person opportunities are risk-assessed and have safety measures in place so you can volunteer in confidence.

Volunteering opportunities

You can discover all our opportunities on our volunteering directory and use the search tools to find something perfect for you.

Virtual volunteering

We also have lots of virtual volunteering opportunities on offer, including our Social Hackathons series, so no matter where you are, there’s always something for you.

Leadership opportunities

If you want to develop your leadership skills, we’ll give you the training, support and funding to set up your own community project with our Student-Led Volunteering Programme.

Student-led volunteering

If you don’t want to lead, you can get involved with one of our existing Student-Led Volunteering Projects and volunteer side-by-side with other UCL students.
