Tap - the Dutch [r] is a tap. it is produced with a quick tap of the tongue against the alveolar ridge
Tense - the grammatical category that relates to time, the grammaticalisation of time (Trask, 311). In Dutch and English the verb can be marked for Tense
Transitive verb - a verb that needs a direct object ‘I hit you’ vs ‘* I hit __’
‘You get the car’ vs ‘* You get __’
‘Ik sla jou’ vs ‘* Ik sla __’
‘Jij krijgt de auto’ vs ‘* Jij krijgt __’
