ICTM Visual Identity Guidelines

The ICTM visual identity provides a consistent and coherent design language. As the most prominent visual representation of our Institute, we need to ensure it is used correctly.

There are some guidelines on how to use each element and we ask you to adhere to these to ensure consistency across the Institute.

ICTM Banner

The most important visual element of the ICTM brand is the banner. Our visual identity is unusual because we do not use a traditional logo. The banner must appear, unaltered and fully legible, on all UCL communications originating from the Institute.

Our banner uses the standard UCL banner, where the strapline has been changed to the name of our Institute.

We observe the guidelines issued by the UCL Communications & Marketing team and we would expect you to follow these when using the ICTM banner. Do not change the colour of the banner (see more in Colour). You should never use the logo and the banner at the same time.

Never provide or publish a word version of the banner to an external audience - please always convert to PDF.

Please feel free to use the following materials for your communications:

If you have any queries regarding the use of any of these materials, please contact the Institute Administrator (ictm.enquiries@ucl.ac.uk).

ICTM Logo

When ICTM is working in partnership with other organisations, or when it's impossible to use the banner, we use the logo.

You can add it to documents, presentations, reports, etc. where using the Institute banner would be inappropriate. Do not change the colour or the aspect of the logo (see more in Colour). You should never use the logo and the banner at the same time.

Please feel free to use the following materials for your communications:

We would ask you to follow the UCL Co-branding guidelines wherever appropriate.

If you have any queries regarding the use of any of these materials, please contact the Institute Administrator (ictm.enquiries@ucl.ac.uk).

Colour

The Institute colour is know as "Bright Blue" in the UCL colour palette. The values for this colour are:

  • Pantone 7711C / 3135U
  • C 98 M 0 Y 28 K 4
  • RGB (0, 151, 169)
  • #0097A9

Our branding follows an analogous palette (i.e. one main colour and colours from either side of it on the colour wheel), therefore using Light Blue and Mid Blue.

If you have any queries regarding the use of any of these materials, please contact the Institute Administrator (ictm.enquiries@ucl.ac.uk).

Other materials and resources

More templates

There is a wealth of branded resources available at the UCL Communications & Marketing website. When using any of these, you must always ensure that you change the strapline "LONDON'S GLOBAL UNIVERSITY" for "INSTITUTE OF CLINICAL TRIALS & METHODOLOGY".

To save you some work, we have provided the most commonly used templates below:

Fonts

We observe UCL Typography guidelines in all out external communications. UCL has two typefaces: Arial and Garamond.

Arial is the primary font because it is available on a large number of computers and systems worldwide, and it can be used in any weight (bold, italics, light, medium, or regular). Helvetica can also be used as an alternative to Arial where available. We also use Garamond as a secondary typeface.

In your internal communications and e-mails you may use whichever font you prefer.

Even more resources

If you need any advice or guidance on the use of images, commissioning marketing materials, producing videos, etc. please contact the Institute Administrator (ictm.enquiries@ucl.ac.uk) who will be happy to assist you.
