Banner variants




The banner in summary
- runs all the way across the top of our web pages and printed communications
- the Portico icon sits to the left of the letter U, and is a reference to UCL’s iconic Wilkins building
- the UCL letters are cut out, revealing the background colour or image beneath
- also features a strapline, the default is ‘LONDON’S GLOBAL UNIVERSITY’ but can use the name of a faculty, department or project
Banner variants
- For some print designs the banner can be also be used rotated 90º counter clockwise, and placed on the left hand edge
- In special circumstances the line only banner can be used. Artwork is only available on request
Banner dont's
Don't attempt to reverse out the 'UCL' letters

Don't change the size or position of the strapline or portico

Don't add anything other than the strapline into the banner e.g. a logo

Don't add effects such as drop shadow

Don't change the shape of the banner

Don't use colours not in the UCL colour palette



Always use the .EPS for print and the .PNG for screen
Make sure the portico emblem does not move or change size

The banner can be any solid colour from the palette, but never a tint transparency or pattern.
