Working During Your Studies

Working during your studies can be a great way to build new skills, contribute to your local community, and earn a little extra money.

Internships via UCL Careers

The myUCLCareers jobs board is the main job site that employers are encouraged to use when recruiting UCL students (as well as recent graduates and researchers). Advertised roles are for both graduate level jobs and internships and can be searched by area of interest. You can also register to receive daily or weekly vacancy updates, based on your preferences. Further information can be found on the UCL Careers website

Unitemps

You can apply for temporary part-time or full-time jobs on campus within various UCL departments, giving you complete flexibility to choose jobs that suit your skills, availability and career aims. Unitemps advertise a range of roles to suit undergraduate, postgraduate and research students. Register with Unitemps and receive tailored updates with suitable jobs at UCL and across the Unitemps network. Information about current vacancies and how to register can be found on the UCL Unitemps Website

UCL Students’ Union JobShop

Aimed at current students looking for more casual, part-time work to fit around studies. The JobShop advertises roles based on campus or with local employers around London. For current vacancies, see the JobShop webpage

Careers Extra Bursaries

Careers Extra is a service that works with UCL undergraduates from under-represented groups. The Careers Extra bursary scheme supports students undertaking work-based experience such as an internship, volunteering or short-term summer work. The funding is designed to support students with associated costs of the experience such as living costs or transport they would otherwise need to cover with paid work that may be less useful to their career. The work must take place in the UK (if it is remote work, it must be with an organisation based in the UK). For Careers Extra eligibility and further information about the bursary scheme, please see the Careers Extra webpages
