Please find important information on transcripts for the following awards:
- Research Degrees - No official transcripts are issued for research degrees by UCL. You may obtain a confirmation of registration and award (if awarded) for proof of enrolment or award.
- MBBS Pre-Clinical and Clinical Degrees - Please find information on how to obtain at transcript for an MBBS Degree on the Medical School webpage.
You may order 1 x free copy of your transcript per academic year providing the order is made prior to the end date of your programme. If there are marks on your record that have not been conferred by UCL, your transcript order will be held. The marks will need to be confirmed by examination boards before we can complete your order. Please note you are no longer considered a current student once your end date has been reached.
UCL Student Records cannot provide students with electronic or scanned copies of transcripts.
The results and awards for final year graduating students are not official until they are conferred by UCL. Once your award has been conferred by UCL, you will automatically be sent 5 copies of your transcripts together with your degree certificate. This will be posted to your home address as held on Portico within 3 months from the date your award is conferred by UCL.
Transcripts for JYA, exchange, erasmus and affiliate students are issued to the students’ home universities
You may order additional transcripts from the UCL on-line shop however, your transcript order will be held until your final results and award has been conferred by UCL.
Alumni students may order transcripts from the UCL on-line shop.

You will receive an email to your registered email address when your transcript order has been received by UCL. The standard processing time for transcripts is 10 working days from the date of purchase. Processing time may be longer during busy periods, for example during the main examination period (April to June) and around the results release dates (August, November, and January). You will receive an email confirmation when your transcript order has been processed and dispatched.
Processing time for records prior to 1993 - The processing time for these records are longer as these records are not computerised and have to be produced manually using paper records retrieved from the UCL archives.
Sending additional information for your transcript order
If you are sending additional information that cannot be entered on your online request form, for example a change of address or attaching a form to your transcript order, please email us quoting your order number to help us expedite your transcript order.
Collection of my transcript(s) from the Student Enquiries Centre
To collect your transcript(s), you or the person authorised on your behalf, will need to present photographic identification (such as a valid UCL ID card, passport or driving licence) and a copy of this email at the Security Desk of the Student Centre building. The Security Desk will then allow alumni students and third parties access to the Student Enquiries Centre. If you are authorising a third person to collect this on your behalf, you must email the Student Enquiries Centre confirming your student number and the name of the person collecting this. If your transcript(s) are not collected within 1 month of the date of the email confirming your order has been processed, they will be destroyed and you will have to submit a further order if required.
