It's widely known that sleep helps us to stay focused, improves concentration, and academic performance. In this online lecture and Q&A, Dr Guy Meadows, a leading sleep expert from Sleep School, will talk you through all the sleep essentials you need to succeed during your time at university.

This webinar is aimed at all UCL students. The content will cover:

  • Sleep’s crucial role in supporting our mental, emotional and physical health
  • Common factors affecting the sleep of students
  • How much sleep do we need and how to manage a sleep debt
  • How to create a regular sleep/work/life routine to improve our sleep quality
  • Effectively managing nighttime waking
  • How to optimise your lifestyle habits for better sleep
  • How to sleep well during exam season and periods of stress
  • Clinically proven tools to help calm a busy mind and a restless body
  • Q&A

Please note that this session will be online via Zoom. You will receive the link to join the event in your order confirmation email, and in a reminder email before the event starts.

If you're unable to make this date, Dr Guy Meadows will be delivering the same session in person on Tuesday 21 November, 4.30pm-5.30pm, Torrington Place (G13).

About the Speaker

Dr Guy Meadows

Dr Guy Meadows Profile Photo

Ranked as the ‘UK’s leading sleep expert’, Dr Guy Meadows helps individuals improve the quality of their sleep and day time performance.

Dr Guy Meadows is a sleep physiologist, with a doctorate from Imperial College, London. He has been working in sleep for the past twelve years, eight of which have been dedicated purely to helping clients overcome insomnia.

Guy spent four and half years working within the sleep research laboratories of the Royal Brompton and Charing Cross hospitals. He is trained in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), pioneering the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Insomnia (ACT-i). Guy regularly talks and runs training workshops for therapists and General Practitioners.
