Degree Certificate and Transcript Production

13 December 2021

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE THE UCL CHRISTMAS CLOSURE (22 DECEMBER 2021 TO 4 JANUARY 2022) ANY ORDERS FOR E-TRANSCRIPTS PLACED AFTER 10 DECEMBER MAY NOT BE PROCESSED UNTIL JANUARY 2022

Degree Certificates and Transcripts for completing students

For awards made on 1 December 2021, students can expect to receive their degree certificate and 5 copies of their ‘official’ transcript within 5 months of conferral of award.

Upon conferral of award, students can request a Statement of Award by logging into askUCL to use for verification purposes.

Third Parties can also request a verification of award by using the Higher Education Degree Datacheck (HEDD).

Please note: Degree documents are produced by external printers, who are working under the current Government restrictions.  We are working closely with the printers and will keep students informed if there is likely to be any delays in them receiving their degree documents.

Replacement Certificates

We are able to produce replacement degree certificates for students who have either lost or never received their original degree documents.

Our in-house service has been suspended until further notice, so all replacement degree certificates will be printed externally alongside documents being printed for completing students.

Replacement certificates will be produced in line with the timescales above, and could take up to 5 months to be produced.

Requests for documentation for awards made by the Institute of Education prior to 2014/15  will take up to 2 months to process.

As above, students can also obtain a Statement of Award and employers or Third-Party Agencies can obtain a verification of a student’s award via the Higher Education Degree Datacheck (HEDD).

On-line Transcript Service

We are currently unable to produce hard copy transcripts for current and alumni students via the on-line store and therefore this service has been suspended until further notice. Where these are needed to apply via central admissions agencies such as LSAC, we may be able to exceptionally provide these, but you should expect to wait for up to 6 weeks for your order to be processed.

Students can request an e-transcript to be sent to a third party or to themselves directly via our online store. Details can be found on our transcripts webpage.

Students who graduated in 2021 will not be charged for any e-transcripts requested for a 12 month period after their award date. Students who graduated in 2020 or earlier will be charged £15.00 for each e-transcript ordered.

In the meantime, both current and alumni students can obtain a Statement of Award and Third Parties can also request a verification of award by using the Higher Education Degree Datacheck (HEDD).

Current students applying for further study who require an interim transcript of results can take a screen shot of their Portico results page and send this with their application.
