Mandatory training
New staff are required to complete UCL’s mandatory training modules. Existing staff must periodically review and update mandatory training as required.
Professional development training
Research students at UCL are expected to take advantage of UCL DocSkills and other training on offer and should aim to participate in relevant training to an equivalent of 10 days per year.

Research funding training
Award Services in collaboration with Organisational Development have developed a new online training course in the Fundamentals of Research Funding Management. The course is aimed at all staff who support externally funded research and innovation projects.

UCLH/UCL Joint Research Office training
The UCLH/UCL Joint Research Office (JRO) provides researchers at UCL and UCLH with courses and training in clinical research governance, regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

Data Protection training
All staff, contractors and students are required to complete GDPR training and complete the refresher course on an annual basis. Access online data protection/GDPR training on the UCL Data Protection website.
Digital skills development
Information Services offer face-to-face training in areas such as data analysis, Office 365, programming, desktop applications, and more to help develop the digital skills of UCL staff and students. They also offer individual support through our drop-ins and online learning opportunities.
