Dedicated NMR Instrument for Reaction Monitoring, 500 MHz, Bath

Dr John Lowe, NMR website

Department of Chemistry, University of Bath, Claverton Down, Bath BA2 7AY

Unusual feature: Dedicated to reaction monitoring. The core of the system is a computer-controlled recirculating batch reactor coupled to a 500 MHz NMR spectrometer with cryoprobe and equipped with flow capability. This is augmented by a range of orthogonal analytical techniques including MS, UV-vis, HPLC and IR.

1H frequency: 500 MHz

Console type and age: Bruker AVHD, early 2017

Probe: Prodigy BBO cryoprobe, early 2017

Temperature range: -40 to 80 °C

Approximate number of hours per week for shared usage: 8, from May 2017
