UCL Welcome Service at Heathrow airport
5 September 2022
UCL will be running a welcome service at Heathrow airport in September 2022 for new international students arriving at UCL.
Arriving to live and study in a new country is a big moment!
When you arrive at that airport, you are about to take that first step on this amazing journey and we want to make sure we're there for as many of you as possible.
- Dates: Saturday 17 September 2022 and Sunday 18 September 2022;
- Times: 10am - 7pm (UK time);
- Location: Heathrow airport terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Welcome Ambassadors are current UCL students who have been trained to work for UCL. Our Welcome Ambassadors will be stationed at each of Heathrow's passenger terminals (2, 3, 4 and 5) by the arrivals' exit. So as soon as you have cleared passport control and walked through those doors, you will see them waiting!
They will be wearing light blue, UCL t-shirts like the ones shown in the picture below.
They will be able to help direct you to the right type of transport you are looking for e.g., Elizabeth line, Piccadilly line, Heathrow Express, National Express, taxis, etc... They can also help show you how to buy tickets and answer any questions you may have about what to do when you first arrive at your final train station destination.
Our superb Welcome Ambassadors will also be waiting for you at 4 train stations in central London to help you at the next stage of your journey from Saturday 17 September 2022 to Sunday 25 September 2022 (except Monday 19 September 2022).
Please note that they will not:
- provide transport for you to central London;
- buy tickets for you
- carry your luggage to the train, taxi or coach (Heathrow actually has a service for those who need this).
Please also note that this service is only for Heathrow airport as the vast majority of our international students arrive here.
If you are arriving at another London airport, we have created detailed information on the different ways you can get to UCL Bloomsbury or UCL East from there.
