‘Your Guide to Thrive’ organised by Student Support and Wellbeing is a fun-packed week in Term 1 (Monday 20th - Friday 24th November 2023) designed to help you develop good self-care practices at UCL. Our talks, walks and workshops will nurture your financial and academic skills, as well as your physical and mental health. Be sure to book your spot at these events and activities!

Awe Walk

'Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished' - Lao Tzu

'Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better' - Albert Einstein

'Nature never did betray the heart that loved her' - William Wordsworth

From ancient philosophers to scientists and poets alike, walking in nature has long been a wonderful technique for improving your physical and mental wellbeing. English poet William Wordsworth, along with many more Romantics, dedicated his poetry to the Sublime: the incredible emotions of awe and wonder we feel when faced with the greatness of the natural world.

We invite you to meet our Student Ambassadors at the Portico Steps in the Front Quad (UCL Bloomsbury). Notice new elements of your surroundings and enjoy the beauty of autumnal London, connecting with your peers along the way. Spending time away from your studies will aid self-reflection and improve your mood, grounding you in the present moment.

Places are limited, so make sure you book your spot!

If you're unable to make this date, the same session will be repeated on Thursday 23rd November 2023, 2pm-3pm (Front Quad, UCL Bloomsbury).

Find out what else is happening during Student Support and Wellbeing's 'Your Guide to Thrive' week here. Our wide range of Events and Activities throughout the academic year help you maintain your physical, emotional and mental health. Student Support and Wellbeing strive to give all UCL students the chance to try something new, make friends and develop wellbeing skills for university and beyond. We hope to see you at one of our events soon!

Build your SSW

Student Support and Wellbeing curate termly campaigns to support the three core aspects of your own SSW: Social bonding, Skills for life and Wellbeing at university. Each activity aims to develop one, two, or all three of these aspects.
