Sources of Support

Key sources of support in relation to Student Casework.

Student Support and Wellbeing Services

Student Support and Wellbeing Services have a team of experts who can provide support if you have any issues with your health, disability or wellbeing. You can get in touch through askUCL or by calling the Student Support and Wellbeing Services Phone Line on +44 (0) 20 3108 8836 between 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and 9am to 12pm and 2pm to 4pm on Thursday.

Crime Prevention and Personal Safety Advisor 

The Crime Prevention and Personal Safety Advisor is a part of UCL's Security team who can provide both staff and students with advice and guidance if you have faced any criminal incidents like assault, theft, fraud or scams, domestic abuse or violence, online or in-person hate crime, online harassment or other digitally-facilitated abuse like spyware, stalking, etc. 

Sophie Bimson is UCL's Crime Prevention and Personal Safety Advisor and can be contacted directly by email (s.bimson@ucl.ac.uk) or by requesting "Crime Prevention and Personal Safety Advisor" when you report with the 'Report with contact details' option on Report and Support. Alternatively, you may call the Crime Prevention and Safety Office at 020 3108 1523 (Int. 51523). 

Dignity Advisors: 

The University has a network of trained Dignity Advisors who provide a confidential information service to staff and students on issues relating to bullying, harassment and sexual misconduct. You can contact a Dignity Advisor directly who can listen and explore the various options and sources of support which may be available to you. 

Students’ Union UCL  

The Students’ Union can offer free, confidential and independent advice to students in person, or via email, telephone and video/voice chat on Microsoft Teams. To contact the advisors, please use the contact form or call 020 3549 5232 between 1pm-4pm Monday – Thursday.  

Personal Tutor

Personal Tutors are a great source of support if you feel that your academic studies have been affected. Your can find out who your Personal Tutor is by viewing your Student Summary on Portico

Security

If you are ever concerned for your safety whilst on campus, the University’s Security Team are trained and experienced in dealing with these sorts of issues and can call the police on your behalf if required. We recommend that you programme their phone number into your mobile phone - +44 (0)20 7679 2222 or UCL ext. 222 from any UCL phone. You can call this number in any emergency 24/7.
