Postgraduate Sub Boards

There are several deadlines approaching relating to the processing of postgraduate resit and deferral marks and final awards:

Postgraduate resit and deferral results and final awards must be confirmed and approved by the Chair of the Board and Faculty on Portico by the 25th March 2022. All results approved by this date will be released to students on the 31st March 2022. The Exam Board Data Checker report, post board option, may be used to keep track of the status of approvals for your faculty, department or individual board.  

Please note it is expected that Departments will have contacted students who have failed in advance of official results being released. 

Any results that need to be considered outside of the above timelines should be dealt with in line with the guidance on processing results outside the main exam board period. 

Graduation 

Students with awards that are conferred and released after the 31 March will not be eligible to graduate with their cohort. Students whose awards are approved after 25 March 2022, will be invited to a ceremony in 2023.  Please inform your students if their results will not be approved in time for them to attend a ceremony in 2022.

Portico Exam Board Processes 

The results and awards should be calculated and confirmed against the 2021 Late Summer Assessment Period in the Calculate Progression and Award and Confirm Progression and Award (post-board) tasks. Please refer to the Exam Board Support Pages for guidance on running Exam Boards, the Rules and Regulations, the Portico Exam Board Processes and changes to the regulations due to the impact of Covid-19. Please continue to log exam board issues on your Faculty Query Management Log.

Further Extensions to End Dates 

If a finalist student requires a further extension to their current end date due to a resit or deferral, please add the details to your Query Management Log and a member of the Student Records team will action the change.   

Verification Services 

After release of results, students and third parties can use one of the following forms of verification of results/award whilst they await receipt of their official degree documentation.  Please note it is not possible for students to access these in advance of the results being released officially

• A Statement of Award which will be available from 1st April and can be downloaded direct from Portico, or one can be requested from askUCL.
• An e-transcript can be requested via the online store. 

Degree Documentation 

Degree documentation for awards fully approved by the 25th March will be dispatched by the end of July 2022.  

Date of Award 

The date of award is the first of the month after the Board has considered the results. The date of award for results considered at the March Sub Boards will be 1st April 2022.
