The Modern European Language Scholarship provides a guaranteed top up bursary of £500 pa to UK domiciled students from low income households.
Eligibility
Eligible candidates must:
- hold an offer of admission to UCL to study full-time undergraduate programmes at the UCL School of European Languages, Culture & Society (SELCS) or language-based programmes offered by the UCL School of Slavonic & Eastern European Studies (SSEES) for the 2022/23 intake
- be domiciled in the UK with Home fee status
- have a household income as assessed by your regional funding authority (e.g. Student Finance England) as £42,875 or less.
Value, benefits, and duration
The award will provide £500 per year for the duration of your programme (to a maximum of four years). This is payable in addition to the UCL Undergraduate Bursary.
Selection
The criterion for awarding the bursary is financial need and all eligible candidates will be guaranteed an award.
How to apply
No application form is required for this scholarship. UCL will automatically assess you for a bursary provided you have consented to share your data with us as part of your regional funding authority (e.g. Student Finance England) application.
Results
Students will receive an email by late September with confirmation of the bursary, or within 4 weeks of their household income being assessed by their funding authority, whichever is later.
