Clinical or observational studies

To start a new clinical or observational study at UCL, you need to interact with an office called JRO 'Joined Research Office'. Starting a new study? | Joint Research Office - UCL – University College London

It is imperative to connect with members of the JRO ahead of submitting a grant. There are 4 stages of approval that must be considered and in place before conducting a clinical research project:

  1. Grant applications | Joint Research Office - UCL – University College London. The JRO will advise on any regulatory and study management matters which may be needed to be considered ahead of the funding requested in the application. The JRO will also advise on, and support the completion of a budget document, the SoECAT . The feedback from the JRO can be incorporated into the application.
!! Please note to contact the JRO many weeks in advance (6 at least) before the deadline!!

Sometimes you might also need a Clinical Trial facility:
Institute of Clinical Trials and Methodology | UCL Institute of Clinical Trials and Methodology - UCL – University College London
UCL Centre for Medical Imaging | Centre for Medical Imaging - UCL – University College London
Clinical Research Facility | UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology - UCL – University College London
--> Please allow for a large amount of time to contact these clinical trial facilities!
  2. Sponsorship and Grant Submissions | Joint Research Office - UCL – University College London
  3. Regulatory Approvals including GDPR | Joint Research Office - UCL – University College London
  4. Assess, arrange and confirm | Joint Research Office - UCL – University College London
