UCL Global

UCL in North America

North America is home to some of the world's leading research and education institutions. UCL's longstanding partnerships in the region enable students and researchers to make a real impact.
UCL’s Global Engagement Strategy continues to nurture strong collaborations between academics and students at UCL and at leading North American institutions.

We look forward to reaping the impact of our ongoing collaborations, and to continuing to foster new collaborations with world-leading North American partners.

Professor Brad Karp Pro-Vice-Provost (North America)

UCL community

We're proud of our international and multi-cultural community which counts 897 students from North America currently studying at UCL and 27,013 UCL alumni in North America, as well as our academics and staff from or with links to North America.

Meet some of our students, alumni and academics through the slideshow above.

Research, partnerships and projects

UCL academics are working with many North American partners to address global challenges. Highlights in the region include the Yale UCL Collaborative, a multi-disciplinary, research, education and clinical collaboration between Yale University and UCL, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2019.

UCL has also established a strategic global partnership with the University of Toronto, based on research and education activities spanning across our 11 Faculties, including the areas of child health, future cities, transnational education policy and cultural heritage. Find out more about North American activity here.

UCL Regional Network for North America

UCL’s North America regional network facilitates cross-UCL connections and synergies between academic and professional services staff interested in collaborating with partners in the region.

Led by Professor Brad Karp, Pro-Vice-Provost (North America), the network meets regularly throughout the year to discuss current and future activity. See below for how to get involved.
