Strategy
We developed the Global Engagement Strategy (GES) based on UCL 2034 and the global aspects of its six Principal Themes.
The GES was created to deliver global impact: the sixth Principal Theme of UCL 2034.
To develop the strategy, UCL's Vice-Provost International Dame Nicola Brewer conducted a comprehensive, university-wide consultation with academics, staff and students to understand what was important for the university's global engagement.
The resulting GES has partnerships of equivalence at its heart: reciprocal relationships of mutual trust and respect.
Its five strategic drivers are helping UCL to deliver sustainable global impact in partnership.
GES 2021-2026
UCL's current five-year Global Engagement Strategy (2015-2020) is due to conclude this year. Work on developing a new strategy has been temporarily paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to resume in Autumn 2020 with a view to launching a new five-year GES in 2021 that will run to 2026 – coinciding with UCL’s bicentenary celebrations.
