Margaret Elizabeth Dale Cast Prize

Instituted in 1982 from a donation of £1000 made by Miss B. M. D. Cast in commemoration of her sister, Margaret Elizabeth Dale Cast, former student of the College and the Department of History

  1. The Margaret Elizabeth Dale Cast Prize may be awarded in each session.

  2. The Prize is awarded by the Council on the recommendation of the Faculty of Social & Historical Sciences.

  3. The Prize is awarded to a student who has attended for not less than five terms a course of study in the College leading to the single Honours degrees of either History or Medieval Archaeology.

  4. The Prize takes the form of books to a value determined by the Head of the Department of History for each award.

  5. No application is necessary. The qualifications of candidates are considered by the Head of the Department of History.

  6. Awards are subject to the provisions of the General Regulations.
