UCL Division of Biosciences

New Staff and Students

New Members of the Department

All new staff and students must complete:

  1. Divisional Safety Induction consisting of a Safety and Fire Safety induction and tour of the fire escape routes.
  2. Laboratory Safety induction for those working in laboratories to be conducted with the new starter and PI for the lab

Health and Safety inductions are in-person sessions that must be completed to gain access to divisional buildings. The sessions are arranged by emailing the Biosciences Operations Team (biosciences.inductions@ucl.ac.uk), who will send the new starter the upcoming dates to select from.

A Fire Safety induction needs to be completed for each building the staff/ student will be working in. Email the Operations Team with relevant buildings and room numbers and they will conduct the additional training.

The Operations Team should be informed of any new starters as soon as possible.
