Services and facilities

UCL's Bloomsbury campus features numerous resources to enhance students' education and free time.

We are continually investing in our teaching, learning and study spaces across campus, the newest of which include the Cruciform Hub and the Art Deco Senate House building.

UCL has 18 specialist libraries with more than two million books and subscriptions to more than 35,000 journals, and historic material in Special Collections.

The UCL Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE) offers courses in 17 languages, some of which can be taken for credits towards degree programmes.

Grant Museum…

UCL is home to three museums also open to the general public: the UCL Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, the UCL Grant Museum of Zoology, and the UCL Art Museum. The university is also home to special collections of archaeology, geology, ethnography, science and engineering.

Student productions and other events take place in the Bloomsbury Theatre (currently undergoing renovation; reopening in 2018) and the Bloomsbury Theatre Studio.

UCL has numerous sports facilities in and around London, including full-size football, rugby and lacrosse pitches in Shenley in Hertfordshire, basketball, badminton and volleyball facilities just north of the Bloomsbury campus in Somers Town Sports Centre, and Bloomsbury Fitness: the UCL Student Union (UCLU) health and fitness club.

UCLU has a range of facilities available for students to use. This includes four cafés, three bars, two shops, an events venue, a gym, and a hair salon. UCLU also has a study space, with plasma screens, desktop computers, white boards, tables for group work and sofas.

University College London Union (UCLU)

UCLU is a registered charity that UCL students automatically become members of when joining the university. The union provides services to support students, and runs more than 200 clubs and societies covering a wide range of sporting, cultural and artistic interests. UCLU also coordinates opportunities for volunteering in the local community.

Our central London location gives our students access not only to the best in entertainment and nightlife, but also to cultural and academic resources. We are close to, and have teaching and research links with, numerous leading hospitals, museums, galleries, libraries and professional bodies.
