UCL brings together a diverse and unique community of committed, engaged and intellectually curious students.

Student community in figures

In 2022/3, UCL had a total of 51,058 students, of which 25,121 were undergraduates, 19,745 were postgraduate taught students and 6,192 were postgraduate research students. About 49.8% came from countries outside the UK (UCL Annual Review 2023).

Students’ Union UCL

Students’ Union UCL is the representative body for UCL students. The union provides services to support students, and runs more than 200 clubs and societies covering a wide range of sporting, cultural and artistic interests. Students’ Union UCL also coordinates opportunities for volunteering in the local community.

Students’ Union UCL is led by sabbatical officers and representatives who are elected in a cross-campus ballot every year.
