About UCL


Student body

UCL has 38,900 students, of whom 18,300 are undergraduates and 20,600 are postgraduates. More than 15,500 students come from countries outside the UK. This diversity brings us a unique community of committed, engaged and intellectually curious students.

Students’ Union UCL

Students’ Union UCL is the representative body for UCL students. The union provides services to support students, and runs more than 200 clubs and societies covering a wide range of sporting, cultural and artistic interests. Students’ Union UCL also coordinates opportunities for volunteering in the local community.

Student Sabbatical Officers

Students’ Union UCL is led by seven full-time student Sabbatical Officers who are elected in a cross-campus ballot every year.
