Student body

UCL brings together a diverse and unique community of committed, engaged and intellectually curious students.

UCL has nearly 43,900 students, of whom 19,994 are undergraduates and 23,842 are postgraduates. About 53% come from countries outside the UK (2019/20 figures).

Students’ Union UCL

Students’ Union UCL is the representative body for UCL students. The union provides services to support students, and runs more than 200 clubs and societies covering a wide range of sporting, cultural and artistic interests. Students’ Union UCL also coordinates opportunities for volunteering in the local community.

Student Sabbatical Officers

Students’ Union UCL is led by seven full-time student Sabbatical Officers who are elected in a cross-campus ballot every year. The new team for 2019 includes:
