VIRTUAL LUNCH HOUR LECTURE: RE-Inventing together: Engaging young people with digital co-curation

6 October 2020

For this first UCL East Lunch Hour Lecture of 2020/21, our speakers come from both UCL and our East Bank partner V&A. They will discuss their learning from engaging with young people remotely and share the results of their experiments.

During lockdown, researchers from the Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis and staff from the V&A Museum of Childhood collaborated with artists and young people (11-14 years old) to co-curate an interactive, web-based, digital exhibition.

Funded by UCL Culture and UCL East, the RE-Invent: Digital Pilot app was developed in response to the early closure of the V&A Museum of Childhood during the pandemic for a two-year renovation project to explore ways of reimagining the Victorian museum as a centre for design and creativity.

Join Dr Valerio Signorelli and Dr Leah Lovett from the UCL's Bartlett Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, as they discuss with Helena Rice, Senior Creative Producer at V&A Museum of Childhood, their learning from engaging with young people remotely and share the results of their experiments with digital co-creation in a museum context.
