Trellis 2 - call for participation in artist/researcher partnership programme

UCL East and UCL Culture are inviting expressions of interest from artists linked to east London and UCL researchers interested in working together.

Trellis is a programme of knowledge exchange between researchers and artists, part of the wider vision for UCL Public Art and Community Engagement to create opportunities for collaboration between artists, researchers and communities based around the future UCL East campus..

After a hugely successful pilot project that took place over a 10 month period in 2018-19, we are excited to kick off our call for participation in Trellis 2.

We are looking for:

  • UCL researchers from any discipline interested in collaborating with artists
  • Artists with a relationship to east London who are interested in collaborating with UCL academics

Trellis 2 will kick off in February 2020 with two matchmaking events and culminate in an exhibition in Spring 2021.

The Trellis pilot in 2018-19 brought together a group of 40 researchers and artists and resulted in nine initial knowledge exchange partnerships, and four commissioned works which were displayed in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park during October 2019. You can find out more about the pilot project on the separate web page.
