UCL staff members and postgraduate research students can now apply for the Beacon Bursary Funding Scheme. Led by the Engagement Team at UCL Culture, the scheme is designed to support staff and postgraduate research students at UCL to engage with public groups. This scheme funds public engagement projects that increase and enhance staff and postgraduate research students’ activity, skills, and understanding of public engagement, enabling them to work with public groups to create knowledge and support meaningful change.

Applications for funding of up to £2,000 are welcomed from UCL academic and professional services staff, as well as postgraduate research students. Applications are now open and will close on Monday 7th October 2019 at 12pm (midday).

For those interested in applying to the scheme, we encourage you to talk to a member of the Engagement Team before submitting your application. The Engagement Team are hosting a number of drop-in sessions, where you can speak with a member about your application face-to-face. The next scheduled drop in sessions will take place on:

Tuesday 20th August: 11am - 1pm (Room 205 Bidborough House)

Thursday 12th September: 2pm - 4pm (Room 103 Bidborough House)

The Engagement Team can also provide advice and feedback on draft applications, and answer any questions about applying by email for those who cannot attend the drop in sessions.
