UCL Go Abroad Week

Interested in spending time abroad? Catch up on events held during Go Abroad Week 2022 to learn more about the international opportunities available to UCL undergraduate students!

Go Abroad Week will be held on UCL main campus from 14 - 18 November 2022.

This year, the UCL Study Abroad team curated an exciting week of in-person events for undergraduate students interested in studying abroad in the 2023/24 academic year. Go Abroad Week took place between 14 -18 November 2022.

Monday 14 November 

Introduction to Study Abroad at UCL | 1:00pm - 1:50pm

Interested in studying abroad? Join us for an overview of the short-term and longer-term opportunities available to you at UCL.

If you are a student eligible to study abroad as part of your degree programme in 23/24, you are encouraged to attend this event to find out what to consider when thinking about where to study abroad and practical considerations in preparation of your placement abroad.

Drop into the Student Centre at a time that suits you to speak 1:1 with staff from the Study Abroad team. 

Tuesday 15 November  

Funding your Study Abroad experience | 1:00 - 1:50pm

During this session, we will cover the tuition fee structure for the semester and year-long study abroad programme and sources of funding for both longer and short-term opportunities. This will include information about the Turing scheme and the funding available through our short-term bursaries

Raleigh International Info Session | 2:00 - 2:50pm

Raleigh International is a youth-driven organisation supporting a global movement of young people to take action that creates solutions to the world’s most urgent problems.

Raleigh empower young people with the skills, experience, and connections to be leaders of change. One of the ways they do this is through Raleigh Expedition, an international volunteering programme for 17-24 year olds from around the world.

Wednesday 16 November 

Study Abroad Student Panel | 1:00pm - 1:50pm

Join us for this panel event, where several UCL students who have recently completed their own study abroad placements will share their experiences, top tips and words of wisdom.

Come prepared with your questions for the panel and gain an insight into the Study Abroad experience from those who have been there and experienced it!

Putting together a successful Study Abroad application | 3:00pm - 3:50pm

In this session, we will cover the application process for term time exchange, and share top tips on how to successfully secure a study abroad space.

Join us for an insight into how you will be assessed during the application process and top tips for making your application stand out.

Gotoco Info Session | Online | 11:00am - 11:50am

Gotoco is a social enterprise aiming to improve cross-cultural understanding. The organisation looks to foster an inclusive global community through accessible international cultural exchange and educational projects in China. They also aim to boost opportunities for quality English learning in China, and help students from around the world learn about China firsthand.
