How to register to vote
To register to vote for the UK General Election, you must:
- be a UK or Irish citizen,
- be a qualifying Commonwealth citizen living in the UK, and
- have your National Insurance number (found on payslips or your student loan documentation).

You can register in your home and term time addresses
As a student, you can register at both your home and term time addresses and pick the most convenient on polling day. You can only vote once in general elections, but you can vote in your home and term time local authority in local elections.
