As you enter Term 3, Student Support and Wellbeing offer our 'Exam Season Toolkit' as a helping hand to support you with a successful exam season (March, April and May 2024). We invite you to take time out from revision and de-stress. Our Toolkit will help you get ready, get set, and go forth to succeed in your assessments. Be sure to book your spot at these events and activities!
About the salsa session
SSW have teamed up with SU Salsa Society so you can take a break from revision and join a free dance taster session and social! Salsa Society aims to bring people together through a love for all the different flavours of Latin music and dance. All levels of dancers are welcome, from complete beginners to advanced! No dance shoes, special equipment, or partner is required.
6pm: Introductory Salsa Class
7pm: Social!
The benefits of dancing
People often find dancing fun, exciting, and uplifting, but there are also other vital physical and mental health benefits to moving your body along to music. If you're looking for a reason to sign up to this taster, the following are some great benefits you might enjoy.
- Dancing increases endorphins, which in turn helps to improve self-esteem and mood.
- In this taster you will meet and connect with others who you may not otherwise cross paths with.
- Dancing can help to keep your mind sharp and boost your memory.
- Dancing will raise your heart rate which will increase blood circulation to your muscles and heart.
