Delayed Publication of the Academic Manual and Core Programme Information Standard Text Update

The continuing Covid-19 situation and on-going discussions at UCL will unfortunately lead to delays in the publication of both the Academic Manual and the Core Programme Information Standard Text this year. Key UCL policies such as attendance and interruptions of study are under discussion at senior level in UCL and since they effect a wide number of regulations and policies, it is not possible to complete the annual updates of both documents at the present time.

The main chapter PDFs of the Academic Manual are usually published in July each year. It is anticipated that this will be put back until August once the decisions on key policies have been made at senior level for next session.

The Core Programme Information (CPI) standard text provides guidelines for departments when drafting student handbooks, Moodle sites etc, and is usually released to departments in provisional form in early June, with the full version with correct Academic Manual web-links, then published in July. Unfortunately, it is also not possible to publish the CPI text yet due to the uncertainty of the key UCL policies. 

However, it is anticipated that the main sections which may have major changes are: Attendance (5), Expectations of Students (6), Tuition and Supervision (8), Changes to Registration Status (10), Learning Resources and Key Facilities (14) and the Global Citizenship Programme (GCP - 20).

Only minor changes are expected elsewhere in the standard CPI text and departments should feel free to start work updating their handbooks provisionally, bearing in mind the greater changes expected to the sections listed above.
