New Interruptions of Study Procedures

Changes to Interruption of Study are planned for 2020-21 including:

• A new online workflow to manage the student request and approval process
• More support for students before, during and after interruption
• Departmental approval of standard interruptions
• More help and guidance for Departments on how to support students
• Replacing the backdating of interruptions with the Extenuating Circumstances procedures, helping UCL to meet its obligations with regards to fees, funding, visas etc. 
• Interruptions for flexible/ modular students in their final year of study

The revised procedures are now available in the Academic Manual 2020-21, and further guidance for students and staff will be published soon. Departments should continue to use the former regulations and application form for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic session.
