UCL is London’s Global University: 48% of our students are international, representing more than 150 different countries. In the current academic year, there are 287 students from Turkey enrolled on full degree programmes both at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

UCL Campus

UCL’s Bloomsbury campus is located in London’s thriving Knowledge Quarter, where partners organisations include Google, the Alan Turing Institute, the British Museum and the Wellcome Trust. This area of London has a high concentration of museums, libraries and research institutions, making it fertile ground for the development and exchange of academic ideas.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements

Applicants studying Advanced Placements (APs) please refer to the USA pages to check your eligibility.

You can find the exact entry requirements for all our degree courses in the undergraduate prospectus.

Please see A-levels for subject requirements. Study must contain subjects relevant to the programme of study at UCL.

In addition, UCL will consider applicants who have successfully completed one year of a Lisans Diplomasi (bachelor's degree) at a Turkish university recognised by UCL, with a CGPA of at least 3.3/4.0.

Please note that students graduating from a Turkish high school with the State, Private of Anatolian High School Diploma are not eligible for direct entry to UCL undergraduate programmes and should consider the UCL's International Foundation Year.

Graduate Entry Requirements

Entry to graduate programmes at UCL usually requires either an upper second-class (2:1) or a lower second-class (2:2) undergraduate degree. Please note entry to some doctoral programmes (e.g. MPhil/PhD) will also require a Master's degree. The entry requirements for individual programmes can be found on the graduate prospectus. The equivalent qualifications from Turkey can be found below:

Minimum entry requirements (2022/23 entry)

Upper second-class (2:1)

The award of any of the following from a recognised institution:

  • Bachelor's (Lisans Diplomasi) with a CGPA of 3.3/4.0 or 80%
  • Engineers Diploma (Mühendis Diplomasi) with a CGPA of 3.3/4.0 or 80%.

Lower second-class (2:2)

The award of any of the following from a recognised institution:

  • Bachelor's (Lisans Diplomasi) with a CGPA of 3.0/4.0 or 75%;
  • Engineers Diploma (Mühendis Diplomasi) with a CGPA of 3.0/4.0 or 75%.

      Other acceptable qualifications

      • Medical / Dental / Pharmacy degree; Master's (Yüksek Lisans Diplomasi); Doctorate.

      Turkish Embassy Fee Partnership

      UCL part-funds a number of awards in conjunction with the Turkish Ministry of Education for Turkish students.

      These awards are available for Master's programmes.

      UCL offers a scholarship worth 10% of the tuition fee to scholars sponsored by the Turkish Ministry of Education under their standard award programmes.

      UCL Global Masters Scholarship

      The UCL Global Masters Scholarship aims to enable and encourage international students from lower-income backgrounds to pursue full-time Master's degree studies at UCL.

      • Selection criteria: Financial need
      • Eligible fee status: Overseas
      • Eligible programmes: All postgraduate taught
      • Deadline: TBC

        British Chevening Scholarship

        Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations.

        The scholarships are awarded to outstanding scholars with leadership potential.

        Awards are typically for a one-year Master’s degree.

        The Scholarship is open to applicants from Turkey. Please refer to the Chevening Scholarship.


        UCL Global Undergraduate Scholarship

        The UCL Global Undergraduate Scholarship aims to enable and encourage international students from low-income backgrounds to pursue full-time Undergraduate degree studies at UCL.

        • Available to: Prospective students
