UCL India Summer School 2024 for pre-university students in years 10 and 11
The inaugural UCL India Summer School took place in June 2024 at The British School New Delhi. In addition to the academic modules delivered by UCL professors, the students also benefited from the interactive lecture course ‘Disagreeing Well: arguing, listening, and learning in academia (and life)’. Students also attended a range of study skills, careers, and alumni engagement sessions.

Undergraduate Entry Requirements
UCL welcomes applications from students offering the A-levels, IB Diploma and other qualifications including the CISCE and the CBSE boards; and from 2025, the Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal state boards only are welcome to apply.
The minimum entry requirements for undergraduate programmes at UCL can be found below. However, specific entry requirements for some programmes may differ and may also be higher. You should refer to the Undergraduate prospectus which allows you to choose the relevant programme and then select your country from the list in the International Qualifications sections.
Please see 'A Levels' for subject requirements. Where A* is required at A Level, 95 will be required in an examination subject; for A, 90 will be required; and for B, 85 will be required from the Year 12/Standard 12 Indian School Certificate awarded by CISCE or CBSE. Bachelor Degrees and Higher Secondary Certificate / Standard XII from the UCL approved State Examination Boards will be considered at the discretion of the academic department.
Minimum equivalent entry requirement for A level grades ABB
Award of one of the following will be considered:
- The Year 12/Standard 12 Indian School Certificate awarded by CISCE or CBSE with five subjects at 90, 85, 85, 85, 85.
- The Higher Secondary Certificate / Standard XII awarded with five subjects at 90, 85, 85, 85, 85 to include three core subjects. Awarded by one of the following State Examination Boards:
- Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board, Bengaluru.
- Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
- State Board of School Examinations, Tamil Nadu.
- West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
- Successful completion of one year of a Bachelor Degree at an Indian university recognised by UCL, with an average grade equivalent to UK Upper Second Class.

Graduate Entry Requirements
To be considered for admission to a Master's e.g. MA, MSc, MRes, MBA etc, we require applicants to complete a three to five year Bachelor's degree and obtain a First Class or high Second Class degree. The degree should be awarded by an institution recognised by the government of India and passed with the required grades. The minimum grade requirement ranges from the GPA of 6.5 – 8.5/10 or 55%-70% and depends on the grading scale and institution of prior study. You will find all the details you need in the sections below.
Admission to UCL is competitive and meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee admission. Please note that individual departments may seek grades at a higher level.

- Bachelor's degree (in any subject) with the CGPA of 8.5/10, 7.0/8, 6.5/7, 5.0/6, 3.6/4 or 70%
For UCL degrees requiring an equivalent of a UK 2.1 degree:
- Bachelor's degree (in any subject) with the CGPA of 8.0/10, 6.5/8, 6.0/7, 4.5/6, 3.3/4 or 65%
For UCL degrees requiring an equivalent of a UK 2.2 degree:
- Bachelor's degree (in any subject) with the CGPA of 7.0/10, 6.0/8, 5.5/7, 4.0/6, 3.0/4 or 60%

UCL India Excellence Scholarship for full-time Master’s scholarships
The UCL India Excellence Scholarships will support thirty-three (33) Indian students with an outstanding academic record to pursue full-time Master's degree studies at UCL for the 2024-25 academic year. Prospective Master’s students in any discipline can receive £5,000 towards their studies. Further information can be viewed on the Excellence Scholarship page.

Student Clubs and Societies
An exciting part of university life is all the clubs and societies you can join. The Indian Society is one of the largest cultural societies at UCL, which offers an exciting range of events from dance classes, open mic music sessions, dinner dance balls and more. It is an excellent platform to meet and make new friends and stay in touch with Indian culture and have loads of fun.

The Students’ Union is your route more than 320 clubs and societies spanning a wide range of interests and hobbies including Bhangra Society, Sikh Society, Malayali and Cricket Club, volunteering opportunities, part-time jobs and also advice service when you need it.
